Apache Log4j2 <=2.14.1 JNDI features used in configuration, log messages, and parameters do not protect against attacker controlled LDAP and other JNDI related endpoints. An attacker who can control log messages or log message parameters can execute arbitrary code loaded from LDAP servers when message lookup substitution is enabled. From log4j 2.15.0, this behavior has been disabled by default. In previous releases (>2.10) this behavior can be mitigated by setting system property “log4j2.formatMsgNoLookups” to “true”.

Apache Log4j2 versions 2.0-alpha1 through 2.16.0 (excluding 2.12.3) did not protect from uncontrolled recursion from self-referential lookups. This allows an attacker with control over Thread Context Map data to cause a denial of service when a crafted string is interpreted. This issue was fixed in Log4j 2.17.0 and 2.12.3.

Great interest was shown by participants at the eCl@ss SAP Information Day at eCl@ss headquarters in Cologne. Paradine gave deep insights to Best Practice implementation of eCl@ss in a global SAP customer environment. Paradine signed a contract with eCl@ss association for reselling of eCl@ss licenses. “We are pleased that this contract now enables us to resell eCl@ss licenses to our customers” says Lejla Lucz, Marketing Specialist at Paradine.

The new eCl@ss Release 11.0 will be released this month. Extensive content enhancements and restructuring as well as extended quality checks are leading to eCl@ss´ biggest leap forward so far.

The latest eptos™ Release 5.6 will be published in July 2019 and rolled out to the first customers. The focal points of this release are the continuation of the implementation of the new user interface andusability topics. In addition, support for the implementation of master data consolidation projects was expanded and the connection to the eptos™ Search Engine was optimized.
